Forecasting more on Bethesda’s upcoming Starfield DLC, The Shattered Space, and the Starfield Creation Kit that will let players add new content to the game at 2024’s Xbox Game Showcase, controversy has since blasted off over the $7 cost for a new mission.
Revealed in a June update video, Bethesda announced a new series of missions for the Track Alliance. The second mission, entitled The Vulture, is $7, although to access it, players must buy 1,000 Starfield creation credits for $10—effectively pricing the former at $10. Unsurprisingly, this has upset the community, with fans taking to the official Starfield Reddit to express their discontent. Some responses included one user jokingly asking whether “Shattered Space actually just 2 quests in a trenchcoat,”, while another was a little more forthright, labeling the pricing “fu**ing stupid.”
In response, fans have been review bombing Starfield on Steam, resulting in an overall rating of “Mixed.” Most of the negative reviews are based on the frustrations around extra costs for DLC content.
