It has sent out a June 2024 security update for Pixel devices, encompassing an exhaustive set of improvements and fixes across multiple functionalities to enhance the performance of the battery, enhance charging efficiency, make the camera more stable, and fix many bugs and issues reported by the users.
This version has several improvements regarding the battery and charging. It avails overall enhancements in battery usage and thermal performance, so it pegs greater attention toward the Pixel 7 series while using the front-facing camera on certain applications or apps. It also fixes issues relating to the performance of inductive charging with some accessories.
Equally, this update puts attention on camera stability and performance. Google is sorting quite a good number of issues, one of them being that relating to the preview—one showing from the front-facing camera seeming to zoom in some apps—and another wherein, at times, a green screen would popup right at the start of the camera preview. These changes should go long in achieving consistency—users’ want when taking pictures in multiple scenarios.
Another key area targeted under the June update is audio improvement. The patch includes fixes for echo feedback when one uses wired headphones and resolves issues of voice suppression during VOIP calls over some apps. It will also make sure that the call audio can seamlessly be transferred between the phone and the paired devices, thereby improving the quality of calls.
Connectiveness improvements are also included, though the focus is more on the stability and performance of Bluetooth devices, especially under LE Bluetooth devices. Wi-Fi stability and performance have been improved to ensure that when one gets a connection, it is stable.
This update also includes several user interface fixes, such as truncation of the titles of apps in the app drawer, notificationstickers, problems with the display of animations, and the responsiveness of the lock screen. It also adds an option that allows users to disable animation during PIN entry on the lock screen, hence providing more flexibility and usability to users.
The June 2024 update comes with much more in store for malfunctioning Pixel devices to their respective users, packing in some massive improvements in functionality and performance for their phones. Users should update by going into the settings, then System > System update, to enable the changes. As a result of the phase-by-phase rollout, very few users will get the update slightly later than others.
