Apple Previews iOS 19 and VisionOS 3 Updates with Enhanced Features

Apple is preparing to roll out iOS 19, the next major update to its iPhone operating system, which will supposedly release at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2025. The update will introduce some exciting features with it, including a visionOS-inspired Camera app, the operating system for Apple’s Vision Pro headset. This new camera design will be more minimalist with transparent menus, presenting users with a cleaner interface and more screen space for the photo preview. The camera controls will be separated into two groups: one for photos and another for videos, with additional options accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
One more major enhancement of iOS 19 is a more capable and talkative Siri powered by advanced large language models. The new version aims to render Siri more context-sensitive and capable of executing complex tasks, as would AI models like ChatGPT. But full availability of all these Siri capabilities will not be until Spring 2026. Siri will also become on-screen aware, meaning it will have the ability to perceive content on screen and act accordingly, such as saving an address to a contact or emailing photos to friends.
Apple CarPlay 2.0 is also a highly anticipated feature in iOS 19, introducing a major overhaul with a new interface and improved customization. This launch will provide users with a more personal car experience, including enhanced widgets and greater control over their in-car world.
In addition to these features, iOS 19 is also expected to improve battery health and management by optimizing background activity, leading to increased battery backup and better battery health. Apple Intelligence, which did not quite see much prominence in earlier releases, might well have some more advanced features in iOS 19 with AI potentially being incorporated across other aspects of the operating system, like creating music playlists.
Personalization and customization also rank high in iOS 19’s priorities. The OS will likely include more powerful widgets, varied control functionalities, and an enhanced Control Center organization system. These aspects will be inextricably connected to Focus Modes so users can easily adjust the aim and appearance of their iPhone based on different contexts.
Meanwhile, Apple’s operating system for Vision Pro, visionOS 3, is also going to be significantly updated. Though little is known about the release, it is reported as a feature-packed release emphasizing the resilience of visionOS. The update is part of Apple’s move to make its Vision Pro products competitive even without any new hardware releases in the near future.
In total, both iOS 19 and visionOS 3 are set to bring significant enhancements to Apple’s environment with an emphasis on improved user experience, AI, and customization. Both updates are bound to play a significant role in helping Apple remain competitive in the technology world.
