OnePlus 13T Compact Flagship to Launch in April or May 2025
OnePlus will be launching a smaller flagship phone, potentially named the OnePlus 13T, which will be available as early as April 2025. The device is being promoted as a compact version of the OnePlus 13, with a 6.3-inch display as opposed to the 6.82-inch display of the larger device. Despite its compact size, the OnePlus 13T will be offering top-of-the-line performance, thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The OnePlus 13T camera setup is expected to consist of a dual-camera module with a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP 2x telephoto sensor. The setup fuels rumors about Oppo’s Find X8 Mini, pointing to a similar design philosophy within the BBK Electronics family. The device will be compared to other compact Android flagships like the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S25, in a punchy but pocket-sized form.
OnePlus’ road map for 2025 is packed with multiple launches post the 13T. The launch of the OnePlus Nord series will come in May to July, and the next flagship will roll out in China in October. November will see the launch of the new Ace 6 series. Interestingly, there is no information about the OnePlus Open 2 in this road map, which could be due to the device’s strategy of targeting the global market rather than China.
There are reports that the future OPPO Find N5 might be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 for overseas markets. No official word has been received from OnePlus on the same. The OnePlus 13T will probably be the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone in its category and may underprice competitors’ offerings on other gen-level 6.3-inch flagship devices.
The phone is also said to have a massive 6,000mAh battery, a great feature considering its minute footprint. That will be as much battery life as phones with larger sizes, so in the small flagship space, that’s really exceptional. The phone will feature the optical fingerprint reader of the OnePlus flagships before the upgrade to an ultrasonic sensor of the OnePlus 13.
In addition, the OnePlus 13 Mini, and potentially the OnePlus 13T, is reported to have a 6.31-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED flat screen and might be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It is said to have a glass body with a metal mid-frame and a camera setup that includes a 50MP primary rear sensor along with a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x vertical zoom, and a third 8MP ultrawide sensor.
Overall, the OnePlus 13T is looking to provide an innovative combination of compact size and top-of-the-line specifications and become a competitive choice for smartphone buyers who look for powerful yet pocket-friendly smartphones. Yet it is still not certain whether and when the OnePlus 13T will hit markets around the globe.
