Garmin Introduces Connect+ Premium Tier with AI Features and Enhanced Dashboards.

Garmin recently introduced a new premium subscription option for its Connect app, known as Garmin Connect+. The new option provides additional features to the app with AI-powered features and advanced tools and keeps all free features intact. Priced at $6.99 monthly or $69.99 annually, the plan also offers a free 30-day trial.

The most standout feature of Connect+ is Active Intelligence, an artificial intelligence-driven system that provides users with personalized health and fitness information depending on activity and data. With time, the information adjusts to more closely reflect the unique goals of individual users. Daily sleep-based recovery updates, as well as customized advice on training intensity and rest, are given to users. Dynamic movement and recovery advice is offered during the day, which adapts based on users’ progress.

Connect+ has a Performance Dashboard that displays fitness data through user-configurable graphs and charts for general training progress overview. Indoor workout performance is monitored in real-time, reporting on heart rate, pace, reps, and workout videos through supportive devices.

Features such as LiveTrack allow friends and family to receive notification when starting an activity by email or SMS. Users also have the option to create their own personalized LiveTrack profile pages to share their activity progress with their followers. Challenges like the Power Challenge encourage users to achieve specific fitness levels, such as completing four hours of zone 3 training in a month.

For Garmin Coach plan followers, there is special educational material and Garmin coach videos provided to enhance performance. Gamification features the use of badge challenges such as “Running Climbs,” where participants need to track 500 meters of elevation gained in running activities within a month.

Garmin consumer sales and marketing vice president Susan Lyman emphasized Connect+ will help connected users’ training more securely through offering enriched features and detailed, personalized info. The change places Garmin on par with the wearables other brands, also offering such a service for purchase.
