Pixel Alarms Fail to Go Off, Recent Update Suspected as Cause

Google Pixel users are facing significant alarm issues, with many users complaining that their alarms fail to go off or turn themselves off. The problem has resulted in disruptions of day-to-day activities, including missed working hours. The problem appears to be across various Pixel models, including the Pixel 7, Pixel 8, and Pixel 9 series. Other users have reported that their alarms disable themselves after initially working properly, while others have had their alarms completely deleted when using Google Assistant commands such as “turn off all alarms.”

The root of the problem is still unknown, but user speculation points to recent software updates like the March feature drop or interactions with Gemini notifications as potential culprits. Affected users reported the issues on social media and forums, describing how long-standing alarms that had been flawlessly reliable for years have simply failed.

Other than these reports, a Google Assistant bug has been found. When users request the Assistant to turn off all alarms, it deletes saved alarms altogether instead of simply turning off current ones. The bug has been replicated on a number of Pixel devices but not on non-Pixel devices running Google Assistant.

Google has acknowledged the problem is real and stated it is ironing out a solution. A representative has confirmed the firm was aware of the issue and promised users a solution was underway. No timescale for the solution has as yet been released.

Users are asked to avoid using some voice commands with Google Assistant and instead manually check their alarm settings before relying on them. Some troubleshooting steps involve correct scheduling of alarms, volume setting adjustment for alarms, and device restart to remove system-level bugs.

This alarm bug is the latest in a string of recent bugs affecting Pixel phones, and it has made people question reliability. While Google’s Pixel phones are praised for what they can do, consistent software issues may have an impact on user trust in the brand.
