HMD Global Revamps Nokia Dumbphones with Enhanced Features

HMD Global, the group behind Nokia’s revival, has just unveiled a new set of feature phones at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. Among them are four: the HMD 2660 Flip, HMD 150 Music, HMD 130 Music, and an FC Barcelona limited edition model of the legendary Nokia 3210. The devices cater to various niches, ranging from nostalgic consumers, via music enthusiasts, to those who have a passion for retro mobile design.

HMD 2660 Flip redefines the ever-popular clamshell design with a modern twist. It comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA and a 1.77-inch cover screen with a colorful hue such as Twilight Violet, Raspberry Red, or Cosy Black. The phone comes with a VGA rear camera, removable 1,450mAh battery, 4G connectivity with dual SIM, FM radio, MP3 player, Bluetooth 5.0, expandable storage, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone comes with the Unisoc T107 chipset and 64MB of RAM and 128MB storage, expandable to 32GB. The phone also features an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance and a pre-applied glass screen protector on the cover display. It also comes with the original Snake game pre-installed.

The HMD 150 Music and HMD 130 Music are designed for music lovers. Both phones feature large built-in speakers and music control buttons on the side, making them ideal for listening to music on the go. They both feature a 2.4-inch QVGA TN display and a 2,500mAh removable battery. The HMD 150 features a QVGA camera at the back, but the HMD 130 lacks a camera. Both devices feature dual SIM support and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, along with a 2.5mm audio jack for wired headsets. They both employ the Unisoc 6531F chipset.

Nokia 3210 FC Barcelona is a limited edition, and it is the first to make us feel more part of the legend football club world. It comes with a 2.4-inch TFT LCD with QVGA resolution and a 2MP main camera with flash. The phone comes with unique wallpapers and secret messages from the players, along with the game Snake being played on a football pitch. The phone retails at £79 in the UK.

HMD’s focus on feature phones highlights the continued demand for these phones, especially from those seeking durability, battery life, and simplicity. They are perfect for those seeking digital detox or as a cost-effective backup option. They offer a mix of retro looks with modern features, which will attract both retro user groups as well as those seeking a less complex mobile experience.

Apart from these feature phones, HMD introduced the HMD Fusion X1, a smartphone to promote digital health in children. In partnership with Xplora, it allows parents to screen time manage, add location alarms, manage the contacts, and permit apps so as to provide security and protection.

For the most part, HMD Global’s new feature phone series shows the company’s commitment to reviving the nostalgia of classic designs with the infusion of modern functionalities, satisfying users’ diverse tastes and needs.
