Leaked rumors of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and its presumed Fan Edition (FE) counterpart have brought out some interesting facts regarding the upcoming foldable handsets. Rumors say the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is set for a July 2025 release, consistent with the release date schedule of Samsung for its foldables. The phone will also feature slightly larger 3.6-inch cover screen and 6.8-inch inner screen, both of which will be upgrades compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The phone’s size is reported to be 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9mm when unfolded and 9.1mm when including the camera hump in thickness.
The design of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is boxier than previous models, as per Samsung’s new design that has been seen on the Galaxy S25 series. The phone may also have improved crease visibility and more optimized OLED through the use of blue phosphorescent materials. The Z Flip 6’s dual-camera system is likely to remain unchanged, but there may be sensor optimizations for enhanced performance.
Speculation surrounding the chipset powering the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has been varied, including Samsung Exynos 2500 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. This uncertainty carries over to the Fan Edition model, which could feature either the Exynos 2400 or Exynos 2500 processors. Early benchmarks suggest that while the Exynos chips will lack certain AI capabilities due to NPU limitations, they should perform well.
The Galaxy Z Flip FE is reported to be a lower-cost version for making foldable phones more accessible. It will undoubtedly have all the features of the standard Z Flip 7, such as its screen size and frame materials, but with some compromises in brightness levels, camera performance, and processing capacity to achieve a lower price.
Both phones are set to launch with Android 15 and One UI 7, featuring new AI-powered features and extended software lifecycles. Galaxy Z Flip 7 will probably retain a similar price to its predecessor at $1,099, while the FE model could make foldables more affordable at a lower price.
