Galaxy S24 May Get Now Brief Feature in Future Update

Samsung has now released the beta version of its One UI 7 software update for Galaxy S24 series phones, a significant milestone in its development. One UI 7, based on Android 15, introduces a host of new features and design updates to enhance user experience. The beta is currently available in some regions, including the U.S., South Korea, India, and parts of Europe, with additional expansion on the cards.

One UI 7 brings a new visual identity with refreshed app icons and a revamped Quick Settings panel. The new icons feature rounded shapes and saturated material colors for better visibility. The Quick Settings panel is now separated from notifications, features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth pills on top, and includes sound sliders with a Gaussian blur background effect for better beauty.

A major addition is the Now Bar, Samsung’s adaptation of iOS Live Activities. This interactive feature on the lock screen provides real-time updates on activities such as music playback, timers, or ongoing rides. Users can expand it for more details by long-pressing.

The update also includes a vertical app drawer, caving to user pressure for simpler navigation. For those who don’t like the new horizontal layout, there is a setting to turn back. Additional AI-driven features are another feature, like Call Transcripts that record conversations in over 20 languages when call recording is enabled. On-device AI-driven writing assist features include text rewriting, summarizing, and error correction.

Performance optimization can be observed in smoother animations and predictive back gestures thanks to Android 15. The optimizations are targeted at delivering a more responsive and natural experience.

Security features consist of Knox Matrix integration to offer more robust device protection. The beta program will request users to register via the Samsung Members app, with early access to these features prior to the stable release alongside the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025.

Samsung’s One UI 7 update shows its dedication to improve user experience using innovative designs and the latest technology while ensuring compatibility with its flagship smartphones.
